OVERVIEW

The Faculty of Pharmacy at MAHSA University was established in 2009. Following its inception, the faculty began offering Undergraduate Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours programme. This programme is recognised by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and Pharmacy Board Malaysia. Thus, ensuring that the curriculum, faculty, and facilities meet established standards of quality and rigour.

In 2014, MQA approved Post Graduate Master and PhD programme in Pharmacy. As the country’s need grew, the faculty offered a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmaceutical Technology in 2019. In 2023, the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences emerged from a merger between the Faculty of Pharmacy and the School of Bioscience. The curriculum for all programmes in the faculty emphasised a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and attachments at various sectors.

Our programmes offer opportunities for participation in related societies, professional organisations, or engagements with the local community to enhance students' interpersonal and leadership skills while fostering a sense of professional responsibility. In recent years, the faculty has expanded its collaborations with industry partners, healthcare institutions and international research networks. These collaborations aim to enhance research opportunities, foster knowledge exchange, and promote advancements in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences.

The faculty focuses on research and innovation. Opportunities for research involvement or projects enable students to delve deeper into specific areas of interest within pharmacy, biomedical and biotechnology fields. Research experience can be valuable for those considering advanced studies or careers in research.

Incorporation modern technologies and software used in the field of pharmacy and biomedical sciences enhances the learning experience and better prepares students for the digital aspects of the profession. Our programmes support career planning, job placement with our partners or facilities in the Ministry of Health, and networking opportunities with professionals in the field, assisting students in transitioning smoothly from university to the workforce.

In summary, the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at MAHSA University continues to evolve, emphasising research, education, industry partnership, and community engagement.
