PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
MAHSA University offers a full time (1 year) and part time (2 years) study in Master of Physiotherapy. Candidates can choose to specialize in either Musculoskeletal or Neurology. This cutting-edge programme is offered to physiotherapists who seek to advance their careers and are also committed to serve the community as evidence-based practitioners with strong clinical reasoning, in order to make accurate clinical decision for complex problems in musculoskeletal and neurology.
To go from being an entry level therapist to a specialist, it will be necessary to qualify in post-graduate degree with course work in the respective disciplines. Credentials acquired at this programme can be advantageous for career progression as Physiotherapist. It opens the gate for pursuing further research and numerous career growth opportunities as specialists, academicians, policy makers or clinical managers.
The programme includes a wide range of teaching methods namely higher-order problem-solving activities, case studies, practice-based learning, peer support and blended learning using e-Learn. The programme has both course work and research components, with greater emphasis for advanced skills in the respective disciplines. The full-time programme is conducted entirely at the university campus except for clinical placements at our panel hospitals. The part-time programme is delivered in blocks, where face-to-face sessions are conducted at the university campus with supported learning through e-Learn. All modules are delivered by practising experts, specialists and academics informed by the latest developments in the field.
This programme is uniquely designed such that research-informed teaching becomes the main emphasis geared towards challenging and driving students to become evidence-based practitioners. MAHSA University provides a supportive learning environment, through which candidates learn to collaborate, innovate and succeed. Academicians who have a wide spectrum of knowledge will facilitate the post-graduate learning experience.
The University has established a cutting-edge Physiotherapy Research Laboratory equipped with a GAIT LAB WITH FORCE PLATFORM, ISOKINETIC MACHINE, REALTIME ULTRASOUND, ELECTROGONIOMETER and EMG.
On successful completion of the programme, the candidate is awarded the MASTER OF PHYSIOTHERAPY in either one of the disciplines which he/she has registered.

Entry Requirement
A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 MQF) or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 in related field, as accepted by the HEP Senate
A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 MQF) or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the related field

Upon completion of the Master of Physiotherapy you may pursue your education further in PhD.
Increasingly there are career opportunities in teaching institutions in Malaysia and you can also become a specialist practitioner. The credits you gain in your Masters programme may help in credential evaluation process if you aspire to pursue your career opportunities overseas.
Post graduates may assume leadership roles and help private health care providers in developing and enhancing quality of Physiotherapy services.
